The ten gods, the five elements, strength and weakness, joys and taboos do not exist in the air, they all have a reference point. This is the point of the day master.

Bijian, robbery of wealth, Eating God and Hurting Officer, wealth, official killing, and seal are all functional relationships of "relative to the sun master". Away from the center, the words lose their direction.

The day master is central because the Ten Gods are defined relative to it. The same element can represent Resource, Output, Wealth, Officer, or Peer functions for different day masters, so a symbol cannot be interpreted before the reference coordinate is known. This does not make the day master a complete portrait of the person. It is more like the origin of a map: it tells the reader how other forces are named and compared. The month command, roots, combinations, hidden stems, and timing still determine whether a relationship is available, excessive, blocked, or useful.
